Keys to the Mind

Keys to the Mind

A Poem by Taemint
"

This poem was written in that short one hour period in school which I call my personal heaven. English class. Our 'discussion' for today got my brain thinking..

"

Gilded with gold

Embedded with silver

Hidden in that bottomless river

Things that were lacking

in the eyes of the young

Things that were hidden

away from the sun.

The light has fallen away from the sky

bringing out the joys and terrors of the night

If you could only see those buried dreams

and hear the freedom of that young mind sing

maybe your eyes will finally see

the things that were always meant to be

Give us a chance to speak our mind

Do not afraid to let us stand up and try

Let our imaginations run free

and to do that you must first turn the key.

Each stanza alone was good but together they did read so well together. The transition from the first stanza to the second was awkward…a little less so between the second and the third. But I did enjoy reading it…not sure why it felt that way to me…
