So SweetlyA Poem by TaeA heart and a pair of unsteady hands. My heart rests in unsteady hands, Even when it's unwanted.
The glue and band-aids that hold it together, Are oh so evident, And show it's dreadful past.
Though these hands, That craddle the glass, Are sweet and kind, The heart grows weary, As times continues on.
Past shall repeat itself, Always, always, always.
These hands, Rough with work, And tanned from the golden sun, Soon begin to shake.
Shake, From the many days spent, Holding onto this broken and repaired, Glass heart.
Can they stand this for much longer? Will they fail, Breaking this terrified heart, Again?
The heart screams to be set down, Set down, set down, Just so the hands may rest,
Must it be broken again?
Though, This time, To the hearts dismay, The hands obey.
Tears fall on the bandaged heart, Shocking even more, And lips caress it as it's lowered, Lowered, lowered,
So sweetly, So gently.
The heart is broken, not. Only tears kiss the stained glass, From the soul the hand belong too.
These hands, So unsteady hands, Set down this ungraceful heart, So delicately.
Finally someone, Treated the heart as glass.
It is not broken, No, Not at all, Because of these hands, So clumsy, Clumsy, clumsy, hands, Simply set it down, So they could both rest.
Those strong, weak hands will be back, Better than ever, To care for this heart,
As if it were glass, So delicately, So sweetly. © 2011 TaeAuthor's Note
