My Frozen Black HeartA Poem by Tadashi ShigoI am alone.
Freezing, This body shivers. Cracking hands, They break before my eyes. Leaving dust, And glass behind. Falling down, My body shatters into a million pieces. Scattering across the sands, Time still moves forward. This body may be gone with nothing to hold onto. Is this life worth it? With cries and pleas, I'm here on my knees sobbing for your return, But I've still got this freezing heart. Beating alone, Surrounded by nothing but darkness. It burns me still, As my parts scatter among the wind, And the broken. The spirits gather, Around the fragments of my shattered body. Trying to put it back together, They fail every time. My heart throbbing for that life, For that chance to see you again. Be able to scream your name, Look upon your face. All the parts of my soul, Scream out to the heavens. My body turning to ash, My heart melts away. The walls of defense now gone, You can see the real black of my heart. It wasn't supposed to end like this. You weren't supposed to be with me. © 2011 Tadashi Shigo |
