MonstersA Poem by TadKentThe Monsters we become when we give into temptation.
I'm the Monster
under your bed. Don't you fear me, now that I'm in your head? And in your closet, Oh be afraid, I know exactly what you'll say. Something inside me tells me to run. From the depths of my heart, the devil says "Stay a while, Stay a while". When everyone else is searching for blood, the evil inside me just won't reconcile, force a smile. I know that you're still with me. I see you standing there empty heart eyes full of tears, I think I know just what you're feeling. Crooked smile and a hole in my heart, Stop right there honey, don't even start. I want to know just what you're thinking. My mother told me "Listen Son. Fear is the start of pain, but don't be afraid to Love." If you can hear me all broken-hearted souls, raise your voice up, 'Cause you're not the only ones. I see you standing there empty heart eyes full of tears, I think I know just what you're feeling. Crooked smile and a hole in my heart, Stop right there honey, don't even start. I want to know just what you're thinking. Where were you? Where were you when Where were you when I needed you the most my friend? Where were you? Where were you when Where were you when I caught myself falling again? Where were you Where were you then? I see you standing there empty heart eyes full of tears, I think I know just what you're feeling. Crooked smile and a hole in my heart, Stop right there honey, don't even start. I want to know just what you're thinking. © 2011 TadKentAuthor's Note
