IntoleranceA Poem by Tabitha AlphessEnjoy. The world claims we are intolerant. That we are weak fools. Claiming our beliefs are lies While they worship false knowledge and sparsely dressed idols. They persecute us and slander our names While they roll in their adulteries and drink the blood of the saints. They feed off lies and hide in the shadows, Persecuting us for following the light. We put up our crosses and hang our signs While they scream at us to take it down, Claiming it is offensive. But when they hang up images of naked idols and scream profanities and practice their dark arts, And we ask them to take it down, saying it is offensive, They merely laugh And wave us away. They allow the practice of witchcraft The screaming of profanities Encourage evil deeds Lust for blood spill Spread deception and harmful rumors And promote acts of impurity. Yet they refuse to allow Scripture and the church. They make it illegal to teach the Word to those who need it most And punish those who try or even mention its name, Screaming its offensiveness and lack of truth. They call us intolerant. They call us weak fools. Yet they are intolerant of our beliefs, Believing false knowledge and cringing at the mere mention of the name of our Savior, Like a liar cringing at the truth Or a demon to the light. So let me ask you this: Who is really the intolerant, weak fool? © 2013 Tabitha AlphessAuthor's Note
