One thousand problems- One single tearA Poem by ChrisA poem questioning how the world goes on despite the pain in the world. One thousand problems One single tear Of a boy trying to understand How the world can shatter and shake And still not break Of how an ancient woman can live As her dear sister dies Her eyes remaining open To the unchanging world Of how a father can lash A whip like a thousand snakes At a child who hides From the fear that he so loves Of how a rich woman can smile As she donates two dollars To people who need more than money This boy does not understand How his wounds bleed red Painful to the touch- like fire And still heal So as to leave a gentle scar Maybe the answer is in the sky Fluttering clouds soaring above They grow together- into a storm And then drop rain and disperse To nothing they become Then they return Repeating the cycle once again Perhaps the glass is meant to shatter So that it can be rebuilt once more Never- perfectly- but still- better Maybe now the boy gets How a woman can sob A boy can shudder And a people can starve How wounds can heal Or maybe, The boy will continue to cry Because no matter the truth Life still hurts © 2017 ChrisAuthor's Note
