Dear No OneA Poem by Imagine ThisLetter by a little girl to her future lover.
Dear No One
As I write this I don't even know if you exist But I'm a girl of imagination so I'll pretend you do. And in my imagination I want you to hold my hand Wrap your hand around mine and it'll fit perfectly. Let the familiarity of mine remind you that I never want to let go. Silently tell me you love me by squeezing my hand And I'll squeeze it back because I'll love you too. I want us to be intimate - Innocently intimate. Tracing endless patterns on each others palms. Stupid shapes that don't make sense because they describe our love. Dear No One I want you to whisper sweet nothings to me that will mean everything to you. Look into my brown eyes and let's have a telepathic conversation. Let's have a conversation with no words... A conversation with just us and our furiously beating hearts. Hearts that are thanking our ribcages for keeping them intact because they would leap. Mine to yours and yours to mine. That way we have assurance. Assurance to be happy, because you won't break your own heart. Dear No One As I write this I'm not sure if you exist You're probably just a figment of my imagination But I dream of the day I get to meet you. And it'll be like the dream I've had a hundred times over, And then it'll hit me. Here you are. I'll touch you. Smell you. Kiss you. Then get hit by a wave of euphoria because I've loved you before I even knew your name. So promise me forever and I promise to fulfil your promise to me. © 2016 Imagine This |
