Love Upon Hearts

Love Upon Hearts

A Poem by ROXANE DORSEY

Love for who
we knew
silence we kept
love for two
invisible waves flowed
how, didn't we know
no flares to dare
love to do
explosion spewed
yearning hearts
beating weakness
for strength in us

I really like your style. It's different and refreshing. Your unique voice comes through your writing so well!

at first I read this poem as Emmajoy did, but it's meaning could also be one of overcoming the fear, "beating weakness" in order to love and be loved... could be between two people, but couldn't it also be metaphor for larger society and the need to over differences and see ourselves as a community???

I enjoyed your poem Roxane, it allows for the reader to wonder and roam in possibilities and isn't this what art is all about....

thanks for the kind words and reviewing
Had to read this three.four times, using different stresses or pauses.. til, perhaps i found your words daring to profess a hidden relationship, a secret love that needed privacy and maybe, a determination to keep it alight. Not sure.. but gentle words, almost timorous.
