Homerun, Roxane (pardon the obvious baseball reference, though I like the team). This is among my favorites, if not my favorite, poems from you. I love the imagery and the message. Beyond powerful. It conveys so much strength and resilience, things we need to survive and thrive today. Thanks for sharing.
Very well written. I feel the message is the lessons we can learn about life. If we sit and think, regardless of who we, the necessities we need to survive are the same, it's how we go about getting these that becomes the question. The oriole does not follow the jays because it knows there is a proper way of gaining food, it may not be as easy as the jays but its what the oriole feels is the right way.
Sometimes we know the right decision to make and must find the courage, as the oriole, to do what's right regardless of what others are doing. I love it!

Nature do better at living than most humans, "now who hall all the brains" ponder.
love poetry since it has been embedded in my mind deeply way back when I was 4 years old. A very good reader in pre-school. Nursery rhymes tuned me in even deeper. more..
