I Can Remember

I Can Remember

A Poem by ROXANE DORSEY

Memories, a thing of the past,
distant my mind through time.
It is time which once possess
our sweet memories of love.
Never can I let them go.

In the core of my heart, hold
love letters you verbally recited
on the harbor's dock one
foggy night. They made things
alright. Memories, I remember
holding you, without time on
 my mind.

This is a haunting message that pours out a longing for someone missed. Your writing grows even more vivid & poignant when you begin sharing the details of stanza 2, so powerful yet just a simple memory that says more than the words on the page (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Life can be sad and rough when someone we love is not around anymore. The heaviness stays around like a chain around the neck to remind us.
