Are We Moving, Again?

Are We Moving, Again?

A Poem by ROXANE DORSEY

``We're moving again! for the tenth time seem like.
Will I find new friends I ask myself again like always.
I want my own room....hope the boogie man don't get me.
Tears flow the hallway til someone say, come on little baby.
Always no. Even if I cried my little heart out, back to my
spooky room, room. Every night felt like a doom to get asleep.
Even the walls creep.  How the hell I'm suppose to get sleep!

' 'In my room, all the way up 3 flights of stairs, on the left,
did my dolls sleep in their small house. We had a mouse and
a cat. The cat was black and spooky too. I didn't know what to
do. Soon the cat was gone. Uncle Bob sung it a new song by
flushing Mommacat down grandma's john.

' 'In that house, we didn't last. Living in that row house became
a thing of my past. After a year my family was on the move again.
I had to find new friends like always.  But this time they came to me
because I wasn't a bully.  I am the nicest type with a gappy smile and
cause I moved why should I change my cartoons?

My family and I are moving soon. I am currently a junior in high school and have lived here and knew my friends since 6th grade, but I'm okay. Moving's so hard, but people get though things. This helps. At least I'll still have this site in case I don't make friends.

I hate moving. I dislike change. I liked your honest thoughts leading to good ending. Thank you Roxane for sharing the amazing poetry.

Roxanne,
You channeled your feelings into your writing well. These were and are strong emotional memories that you forever carry.
It is good that you are putting them down on paper. The writing process allows us to explore our past more deeply. Well done.

such an interesting story Roxane! reads almost childlike so similar fears spring to my own memory ..tho my uncle Bob never flushed a black cat down granny's toilet :)))) i love to visit haunted places .. not to commune with ghosts but just to experience being in such places to see how my senses are affected ... did you really live in such a home .. row houses have a great old history in a lot of places ..nice read

ps. your closing line gave me such a chuckle ..
