Disaster Came to TownA Poem by ROXANE DORSEYthis years hurricanes, I dedicate my poem to Florida, Texas and all other coastal hit states effected.
Calamity is to become of a city. Windy waters
a driving force, brought ocean liners ashore. The rudder abandoned ship. Anchors away to Santa Fe. The band had plenty tunes. The violin tuned to the tune never too soon. Come hell in those highest waters downed a hotel, power lines....trap'd families without communications. America has seen much more. Yet she and her states communicated through calamities. Dark days have come and gone. There cometh darker days to sway into the light. May the lighthouse faithfully guide those ships back out to sea to see the damage. ....but we're on America's land. And I say it's something bout that word America, that cheers my smile and make me feel everything is going to be fine.
