Love BirdsA Poem by ROXANE DORSEY
.....on a branch of an oak tree set a blue jay & me.
We waited sitting all day. On a branch he set.....he chirp'd his heart away. Wow, that bird had a set of lungs. He tweeted love songs. That bird carried a tune, traveling notes zoomed through the air. Ooh, his mate should be flying in soon. Then two shall carry his tune side by side 'til the sun turn down. To Spreading reddish-yellow & orange-brownish across the late evening horizon. The sun blast's the last yellow rays to darken the day. Bring on the night. Moving their birdie bodies left to right to stretch a note of love-a-byes. Two tender loving creatures swing n sing on a lonely oak tree branch. I set. I watch. I waited. Too scared to move in fear of disturbing something so lovely. It's the closest I'll come to sitting on a branch seeing & listening to nature bare its soul wit love.
