F A MA Poem by ROXANE DORSEY
I'm a fool to think we'd get our
Forty Acres and a Mule. I went to school, learned the golden rule, only to become life's biggest fool. Thinking how couldn't this be, what my country did for me. To slave, that's life. Treat a person right. At least respect when turning your back. Never gave a hoot on how freed blacks made their loot. New found freedom folks had one another's backs, 'til evil hatred made new tracks. Lead good people astray pushed 'em until there was no other way. God help'd us to this day.
