Sweet AmericaA Poem by ROXANE DORSEY
AMERICA!
Ah, the sound of that word, Damn it use to sound so sweet to a child. A child so innocent to the frame. Guilty to shame. To feel the need of being free in another city. A place that don't know what lead is. A bomb or a gun. Just the innocence of fun. A smile. His laugh. Running through America's grass. But behind enemy lines lies the tyranny of a sly giant who's money grooms evil. Green old presidents could kill a kid's dream of AMERICA! Sounds so sweet to a kid coming from another country.
