Only In My DreamsA Poem by ROXANE DORSEY
Gazing upon gazing up at the sky,
my mind wonders, I don't know why. Sometimes I cry. Try'n to make sense of this ol' life of mine. Instantly my thoughts scrambles in despair. My crowded mind is everywhere. Thinking bout the beach last week to my dreaming bout the shark who stark'd me in a tree. Damn, the bees surrounded me. My butt was in a rutt. Summer tanagers saved da day, eat'n bees at my dismay. A lost shoe, what's a girl to do. Think I shall walk barefoot in the sand. Then I remember I wasn't on land. The crazy things one to do dreaming of a shoe. Thinking everywhere. Only in my dreams, life seems fair. Every night I shall go there.
