Oriole Bird Sing

Oriole Bird Sing

A Poem by ROXANE DORSEY

Come Oriole bird, flap your wings.
The sweet honey nectar satisfies your heart to sing.
No words to read for a song from your dreams.
No need to see, just listen to nature naturally sing.
A caged bird never sings.
Its mind is trap'd like a caucus needing to breathe.
The lovely bird sings and glides for landing.

Land on a cedar tree full with family.  Your orange,
black and white plumage holds true to a city
called Baltimore.  A city true to read, read and read.
Drop in a book Oriole Byrd or stop in to sing.
People, grown ups need to do the nicest thing.
For little kids and teens are listen n watching.
Come Oriole bird do your thing.  Sing, sing and flap
your wings. Flap, flap, flap
Now soar while the sun is shining.

Gentle and wonderful use of words. You made the song come alive for the reader. The song of birds. Honored song of nature. Thank you Roxane for sharing the excellent poetry.

love poetry since it has been embedded in my mind deeply way back when I was 4 years old. A very good reader in pre-school. Nursery rhymes tuned me in even deeper. more..
