Still My Thrill

Still My Thrill

A Poem by ROXANE DORSEY

Baby darling, sweet baby.  I feel your love inside my heart.
Dear baby, oh sweet darling baby.
Your love thrills me.  Make me jump every time you and I
bump to the grind.
I can't get that thrill with no other.
Baby boy, yes, you are my dearest friend to the end.
Beauty it was in our beginnings of tales.
Love I fell in the middle, then you played me like a fiddle.
tweedle dee dum de dum dum your the dumb one.
Love notes, I proposed!
String'd me along with that same ol' love song.
When it gave me the blues, I had to choose.
Karma's a b*tch on a bungee string.
I'll be the last woman to sing, "You're still a girl's thrill."

The realisation of being used does leave a rather sour taste, ' Karma's a b*tch on a bungee string.' Great poetry !

thanks very much for your review.
Roxane, great name.
Love the bump running through your poem.
Though I don't think a lot of running is going on.

Just keep it simple, works for me.
brutal irony ... such a whirlwind of confusing emotions and thoughts and "gut" intuitions when one loves in such a relationship :(

Reads to me like a song of sorts; has a certain rhythm reminiscent of lyrics.

In itself, your words are a loving tribute to the object of your affection. You know they are the real deal when the thrill always lingers on.

A nice write.

"tweedle dee dum de dum dum your the dumb one"

I adore that line. I love it when poetry inspires a song from the heart.

thanks matches, glad you enjoyed the write.
oh well yup! I think we gals have all been there, lust has a very strong potion, it weaves its way to the lustee in our thoughts, dreams, emotions and moments of each day. That man (whichever the object of desire) can play any card in the deck, and for that moment in time - it will all be fine, that's what happens when you wear rose coloured lust filled sunglasses .... but surely though we can have fun, fun, thrilling fun until the sheets are soaked through with sex, then once the emotions have rebalanced, we too can look back to see what the hell we learned ....

nice pace, nice rhythm, good use of repetition - the line about Karma kinda came out of nowhere for me - I wonder to what she was referring ..?

Great write - well done X

thanks for review. and nice opinion.
Heh, that's a very cool line you have there. "Karma's a b***h on a bungee string"
Your words got a beat to it, like they jump out of the screen and swoon a person into their meaning. Good stuff
