LIL' BIRDIEA Poem by ROXANE DORSEY
Lil' Bird, lil' bird, Lil Birdie,
where is your tree with your babies? You hide them secretly, away from prey & me. All year you prepared the young their beds. Hour by hour, day in & day out.........You flip'd those wings about. Searching city streets for leftover eats. Finding the tastiest morsels for the best nest of a bird's family and their guest. Lil' Bird, Miss Bird, Oh Birdie, "What time time will you sing"? I live for your tree concerts during the Midnight hours, wee dark mornings & a quick flash of chirps, tweeks and rappin' melodies. Wow, Oh how do I love to hear sweet songs coming from my Birdie in her tree.
