MOMMA'S BABY

MOMMA'S BABY

A Poem by ROXANE DORSEY
"

what a baby needs

"
Kid you see, you and me. Birth or Death.
I rolled the dice, took a chance on Life.
Where Love begins.  Your eyes & mine meets
for the first time.  We're ages apart and
you can't talk.
Your words are cries.  Crying for mom's
listening ears.
Wet cry, No!
Hot cry, Why?
Poop stench never ends!
Diaper duty, mommy, bottle empty.
Hurry mom.  Can I have my din-din?
Hold me, swing me, please me.  Little
ol' Me.  I can't smell you, hear my cries.
Wine. Wine. Wine.  Scream out cries.
Is Mom nearby?
My cries are for sleep.  Then you can sweep.
Clean house or break, in an hour, I'll holla for
a snooze.  It's my signal, mom put on your shoes.
Carry baby where you please, just a long as
you're next to Me.

About
love poetry since it has been embedded in my mind deeply way back when I was 4 years old. A very good reader in pre-school. Nursery rhymes tuned me in even deeper. more..
