Old Gods of Time and Space

Old Gods of Time and Space

A Poem by TTina

Old gods of time and space
Disappeared without a trace.
In the vast void, one blue dot remains
Rivers stretching like veins
With blood burning red still.

Through these abandoned lands
Many made love and many found friends.
But, no one ever found a beginning, nor a conclusion
Of this almost perfect reality; it must be an illusion.
Rare ones dared to doubt.

Enchanted souls, most man slept in fear
But the light of nightmares will make them see clear.
Stoned were those who learned the change is here to stay
Than they were saints as they found new gods to pray.
And all there is, spun in circles.

Now years have passed; hail each day and each night,
Wise ones believed darkness is the absence of light.
Across the known lands, the word will spread
Of the ancient knowledge from the dead.
The sky was never closer.

Man after man stretched their fingers to the stars,
High up, all the way to the heaven in our hearts.
They there were, old gods of time and space,
Thousands of mirrors reveling their true face.
Time stood still as space transcended.

From shock to anger, acceptance than peace
All fears within men started to cease,
As fire of youth continued to forever burn.
No longer waiting for your return.
You've always been here

Incredible poetry. So powerful and Grecian, exploring and exploded myths and beauty. There is a hypnotic, almost transcendent quality here and a mastery control ot rhyme and meter. Fantastic!
