My Hat up in the Air

In a crowded room of love

I fought it

I threw my hat up in the air

and then you caught it

I never knew how much it meant to you

never knowing that this love was true

only words spoken silently

but you bought it

But I fought it

Now it's on me

to tell you what I should've said

long ago

and how much now I need you so

I won't fault you

if you should turn and then run away

for all the things I couldn't say

That's why I throw my

Hat up in the Air

Again

in hopes that you will care

for all the times that I stood by

just staring at you

and making you cry

It's my hat up in the air

That's where my heart is

And where it should fall

may it not land in my hand

cause I don't wanna be that man

I was

I don't wanna be the same because

My hat is my heart

asking for a new start

If you would only be the one

who's there

when it falls from the air up there
