![]() Answers Don't Come Easy Unless You Talk To MamaA Poem by TTBoy28She could be sitting in the chair in the living room or sweeping up the fun we had with the broken broom
Or talking on the phone and doing dishes in the sink Always looking too busy for me that's what I would think
Needing help with schoolwork I didn't want no drama Little did I know answers don't come easy unless you talk to Mama
I would stand in the doorway until I got her attention When I caught her eye I could swear she would cry did I fail to mention
Mama wondered why I didn't call out to her let her know she was needed I just knew to say - that's okay But I could feel her heart bleeding
She always said nothing came before me and that I was her pride and joy Whatever I needed, no matter the time or day I was her little boy
I was a little man who didn't understand when to use a period or a comma Even if she didn't know - she never let it show But I got my answer when I talked to Mama
Mama was never too proud to ask for help when it came to my education I watched how she kept on searching so I made it my dedication
She may not have had a degree But to me she was the smartest in the world My champion, my savior, my Super Girl I would cheer until my toes curled
Now as a grown man I remember I called her Andromeda Because answers didn't come easy until I talked to Mama
