How Can I Be Broken?

How can I be broken

when I know I am feeling something?

Even though I may have lost something,

it is my choice to feel for it

or against it

So, how can I be broken?

I may not have been a part

of that thing at that moment

But, when I became aware of it,

I responded my way

Not out of pressure

Should I choose to put on a face

for others to agree with

it will be my decision

And, if I pull out a lash,

it is but one

there is so much love there

the others will cover for it

until it grows back

Just like saving my place in line

How can I be broken

when I know there is a space

a spot for me

saved by some thing just like me?
