Crystal Houses

Crystal Houses

A Poem by TTBoy28

What you can see

Is not what’s felt

Smiles and laughter

gleam from beyond

A moving picture-perfect still

mocks behavior everyone else

so covers up

There like poetry in motion

only words show in black and white

So colorful when the sun shines

That prism becomes a prison

for those who’d rather wear it out

They make you see

what they don’t really feel

Eating flavorless things

though you would never know

Drinking of sacrifice

In the name of the Lord

Forming crosses giving blessings

Bowing their heads because they know

You see

Glittering stars for you

Shining brightly

How particularly they do

They are the illusion to your demise

You want to be like them

They know you are looking

When you become like them

You will know why they are right there

And stay right there

Will want to feel what they feel

Even after you can’t see who

Is knocking at your door?
