Nobody Looked

Nobody Looked

A Poem by TTBoy28

Nobody looked at me today

Though if they did

they did not tell me

Posting signs for my clothes

The colors do matter

Walking I am a criminal

Running

Jogging I am a thief

Standing so still

I must bare all

to go nowhere

Is my jewelry worth more than I?

There sits a cubicle

that has pawned me

But it is a lone loan

Check the wrong box

and I am not insured

Is the choice really mine?

Without rewards

I serve no purpose

Awkward at attention

Lazy am I

A wink

A touch

on the wrong part

or the wrong soul

and I am castrated

So, I stand still

and go nowhere

Speak correctly

Hate me

If ever I do rise

Pity shames me

Envy deplores me

Dare I become a somebody

from nobody

who looks at me

Will they see what I see

when I feel peace

before green becomes the color of blue?

Am I better

going nowhere

after striving so much for getting there?

Not even money talks

if they think bullshit walks

Who will be my martyr or muse

If in fact I do choose

to paint a smile

and stand there in the presence of beauty for a while?
