I was Supposed to love You

I was Supposed to love You

A Poem by TTBoy28

Supposed You

My everything

Make me promises you can keep

Before I do something, that’ll make me weep

Do anything

But tell me lies

And even if you can’t sing

Talk to me and look me in my eyes

Tell me what I need to know

That other stuff, keep to yourself

But be careful not to let it show

Don’t want to entertain heartbreak from some shady elf

I was supposed to love you

I know this much is true

Never have a chosen few

Turned my gray skies blue

You’re right on time

Yes, every time

Knocking down my high wall

How could I ever fall?

I was supposed to love you

Knowing what I was getting myself into

I only want to change one part

That we always see things heart-to-heart
