Paint Me a Darker Voice

Paint Me a Darker Voice

A Poem by TTBoy28

Paint me a Darker voice

and I will sing greatness

Narry be there a reason

for a bullhorn

For my presence would

speak volumes

Chic, proper in

hood-like style

Welcoming security checks

in x-ray fashion

You will lie to me

out of fear of my growth

Never will you truly know

that the suburbs don't house

all the wealthy

And though my seed is the same

color as yours

it is time that tells the tale

Happy to see me

Questioning how to be me

Peeking at me through curtains

that are already see-through

at parts you would dare admit to

And when you paint me that

Darker voice

please be just and not turn it

upside-down

for the only anger that's inside

are the feelings you have to hide

Talk to me and then gawk at me

Have reason for your treason

As coats of many colors are for

every season

. ah, true that ... true that ... your poetic voice resounds ... amazingly skillful ... amazingly assertive ... amazingly sensitive ... and i love the tone ... whoever it was deserved it ...
