The Dumb Pretender

The Dumb Pretender

A Poem by TTBoy28

As no photo was needed

her identity was masked in

another room

There she could be as popular

as fresh and vile as she wanted

So much energy to be something

she could not keep up

Paraphrasing ideas that even

Cliff's Notes would threaten to

meet her out front or

around the corner

Praise and accolades taken

accepted as if actually deserved

and unnerved Cliff to the point

of expulsion

Revulsion

Tidbits tossed and eventually

thrown in the direction of the cad

called her out

until games grew impatient

exposing the savant for what she was

Exiting the room

she played her hand for others
