After I heard all the

promises and felt all the

possibilities of my dreams of a

perfect life come true

I said, "I do."

And your commitment to me

was sealed with a ring

But the day to day

night after night care for you

shrunk my hands

unable to club my fingers enough

to hold tight to your promises

Forgiving and trying to forget

strengthened the bond again once I

knew love for myself

And now

You ask me to re-elect you

when your supporters never endured

what I did

Waking up next to me does not make

up for going to bed with them
