When You Pray For Those Not With You

When You Pray For Those Not With You

A Poem by TTBoy28

Everyone is not equal

 everybody is not

the same

When Love is present

there is no room for failure

Together as one

But he tries and tries

along wih furied cries

feeling as if his protests are sweetly

 despised

Until she bows her head and folds

 her hands

Pleading for his success to manifest

soon he is dressed

 to impress

Now in it to win it no less

 unable to confess

he was a mess

Denying her role

crushing her soul

She did not let it take a toll

 it allowed her to roll

and rested with another

who allowed her to be a lover

and not just undercover

His game made him a pimp

 but without her

He was limp

Knowing he did wrong

it didn't take long

before he came crawling back

even broke down was his Cadillac

She prayed for him

even laid with him

what's worse he knew

 she was made for him

Once was enough

 disrespected like that was much

too rough

She cared for him from afar

On his own

he'd have to learn how to

 stay a star

Having what she needed

still her heart bleeded

finally she said a prayer for herself

Knowing she was through

He knew what he had to do

He took his heart down off the shelf

Caring for someone from afar can be much safer than trying to be everything to that person up close...from afar some mystery always remains in place. Having said that, it has to be a blast to be with the one who has your heart :-)))
