Reason to Live

 

Crossing Over

Letting Go

Out of the question as long as she

has adoration for him

He has two lights as one

will end his time with her

and though he cannot touch or feel

he can bask in her scent

and she in his

And she knows his presence

And he knows her peace when no tears

 flow

as her jaunts to his farewell site have ceased

because she is not ready

he is not ready until she is ready

But as he will not go toward the other light

  it draws closer to them both

Never having been selfish

 it is not her time

and with his new might

 he makes her feel him and smell him

 and release him as he comes to her

and says, "I love you"

Without sense of abandonment

 she continues her life by visiting his new one

and says, "Thank you for loving me"

She knows they will be together someday

 But for now,

  it would be selfish to give up a life that has not been

  taken away from her
