Queer As FolkA Poem by TTBoy28
Laborious yet unfulfilled dreams Promises made and taken at face value as the right thing to do Priceless are the final hours spent with swollen bellies and sunken eyes once known as a five and three year old who won't see the future through the same eyes Yet they continue to swear and pledge their honor to a forefather that never went hungry or could not read a note advising them that their tenure has been revoked from their white house Headaches, pains, and bills only add to the infinite ills Embarassed and ashamed another is blamed as other walls are stained Anger creates ghosts of lives taken prematurely Daily And excuses are drummed through decisions of the wealthy who mock the little ones praying for their free trip to Paradise or a dollar to purchase their chance at a dream Creativity and 15 minutes is what it takes to get heard saying, "I'm mad as hell, and I don't mind killing somebody!" To think, three years ago, everyone was so happy © 2010 TTBoy28 |
