What We See

What We See

A Poem by TTBoy28

The way you exited the doorway

remained the same way once you

  saw me

Nodding and then with a smile

 it changed to a grin

And behind it

 I imagined

I imagined us together the

 way you exited the doorway

and saw me

 caught me snacking

 and your pace slowed

 and my chewing became elongated

 and you knew

It doesn't matter who moves first

 but someone better

The things I would love to do

 with that smile

The things I would allow you to do

 with my mind

Controlling one another as necessary

  My arms above or yours

  It matters not

Even side by side

 No one could tell

Until you look at me with that smile

and I start to eat while looking at

   You
