God heard her heart

 

She held it tight

she released it wrong

brought to the light

and told in song

 

As she turned the pages

the tears all fell

Angels of the Ages

ascended from Hell

 

"Forgive me, Father"

is what she cried

why should he bother

after how she lied

 

"Would you die for Him"

the hellion asked

shaking the limb

as if in Heaven he basked

 

He has not been there for me

nor is He here now

As far as I can see

You love me now

 

Then let me hold you

and love you dear

There's so much you can do

So little you have to fear

 

She went with glee

as he shined so bright

was he too good to be

was her decision right

 

The closer she got

the hotter she felt

All she was taught she forgot

and felt her soul start to melt

 

And she called

and begged and pleaded

as his pull was stalled

she got what she needed

 

Forgiveness came

at just the right time

The sincere mention of His name

brought all reason to rhyme

 

He only told of His love for her

and that He would never forsake His child

she acknowledged that she was a sinner

and longed for her punishment to be mild

 

But no voice was heard

only a warmth that felt so right

Any doubt she had was turned to curd

She surrendered to Him with all her might

I really enjoyed the rhythm of this poem. Its very well written and looks like it took a lot of thought to make it! Isn't it just amazing how God still chooses to bless us all, and make us feel better, and yet still bringing all the glory to his name through it? Keep on writing, you are very gifted! :)
