The Soccer Mom

The Soccer Mom

A Poem by TTBoy28

Quiet should have been her best suit

yet loud colors of red and yellows spoke volumes

for the business she involved herself in

Walking and treading on the brink of

 disaster

her children needed to watch her

for the older ones played harsher childish games

and when an opinion was needed

involved were the spawn that vowed to

save her and care for her

  in age and in sickness

Extortion

 was added to her wardrobe

and soon her children shopped for her

and ultimately cared for those who

tried to conclude business their own way

only the children were better at Twister

Cruel intentions

 yet intended to warn

at least that would be the excuse provided

 to those just in case

Extending her services to the clergy

confessions brought about fear and loathing

 yet God welcomed her dedication

And the car roared through

 neighborhood after neighborhood

camouflaged as hate until the children

declared themselves emancipated

The style supported their lifestyle

it was her employment and she her own boss

Games became more intriguing

 as higher education called

Soon to be alone yet

 vowing to never be lonely

foster children were enlisted from school

as secrets threatened to be thrown onto the

 baseball field

as many daddys became daddys to many of them

without their mommies knowledge

And like a bicylce

 the cycle continued until someone

 got off

She never got old except in age

and her children raised their children

the same way
