Darkened Days

Darkened Days

A Poem by TTBoy28

Everything she made

 she copied

Everything she prayed for

 belonged to someone else

What she considered life closed its

eyes to her on her wedding day

Everytime she got laid

she did it to sample what wasn't hers

Everyone she knew

 denied knowing her in public

Selling herself short

she was tossed each and every way

 every single time

And the husband she laid to rest

 tossed each and every way

 her need grew with him

Love was too much

 until he could not pray

Together they were

 bodies yearning

 Until death

Now allowing visitors into her home

his scent aroused her and reminded her

seeing his face close to hers

And she prayed

his body on hers

And she prayed

his body beside hers

And she prayed

he inside her

calling out his name instead of the visitor's

And they came and went

 each and every time

until fate came who did not take kindly

to being called anything but Daddy
