Silver Spoon

Silver Spoon

A Poem by TTBoy28
"

The Lyrics

"

Days and Nights

Lying to yourself

Wondering when you're gonna be

 somebody else

It's all

Games and small time ghetto fear

Sucking everything and wanting to

 disappear

No one knows

how being used so much could really

feel

Except someone wanting to be real

(Chorus)

You're gonna fall

 Until you win

You're gonna do it all again and again

You're gonna die

Until you change that piece of you

that's afraid to look you in the eye

Giving and you give

What's that all about

No one's in your corner when

 it's aching to shout

and then

it breaks

the tie that holds you sane

The same lie that they all know your

 name

Because you're just

 a pick-up from the pavement

Dreading that this will be a marriage

 from this warped engagement

Act three

And what's so plain to see

Time ain't got no time for insincerity

Change the tune

and keep reaching for the moon

Live and taste life

with that bad a*s silver spoon

(Chorus)

This is such a truthful and insightful piece. I relate and whole heartedly agree, when you say,..........

"You're gonna fall

Until you win

You're gonna do it all again and again

You're gonna die

Until you change that piece of you

that's afraid to look you in the eye"

This is a penetrating insight of how we must unravel the enigma we are used to calling "our self". Really fluid and rhythmic write with a poignant message to hold on to your true self-"the silver spoon" Excellent and I am sorry I haven't been here earlier, but I shall certainly return. That;s a threat.....!

Urban writing with a flair..Though the message
dances around a bit and at times gets lost. Overall
still a very strong write..my friend.

Even though I do not understand the message that is behind this poem, I do love the flow of this poem and the imagery.

I think my favorite line has to be "Time ain't got no time for insincerity." It's both true and clever.
