The Father, the Son, and His beliefs

The Father, the Son, and His beliefs

A Poem by TTBoy28

As sour as things were

 he tried

The girl and the life he sought

 only laughed in his face

 and went in another direction

Now homeless and soulless

 home is the desired refuge

Tinkering and speculation

buzzes daddy's gonads as mommy stresses

due to her now potential social indignity

Daddy's Foghorn Leghorn demeanor

is strutted in front of the pulpit and mommy lowers

 her Sunday chapeau

scowling as their 21 year old man tickles the ivory

 for daddy's choir

and he speaks on the time for a child to leave home

 And the choir says, "Amen!"

And the keys are stroked softer and then with fervor

and mommy lowers her head lower

The strut continues until the last hands have been layed

Praise is handed out for a most momentous sermon

yet mommy and her 21 year old head home alone

Daddy can't stand the sight of a man-boy still under his roof

being smothered by his partner in crime

who knows that it is daddy's abhorrence to homosexuality

and not his 21 years of age that wants him out and out

 of his life

Because the Bible says so

 And so shall it be

But the Bible says that the woman is to stand by her man

The pillar of magnanimous proportions

 in the eyes of society

But a house of worship for hatred is

where an unwanted 21 year old lays his head at night

and gets down on his knees to pray to

the same God that daddy prays to

with mommy holding daddy's hands
