Where is My Liberty?

Where is My Liberty?

A Poem by TTBoy28

I fought for you

yet the decency of my acknowledgement

 is not there

I hurt for you

not only because it has been deemed worthwhile

 I cannot tell

I kill for you

everyday so that I am not killed along with

 the rest of the world

I lie for you

you cannot know me but we can shoot together

 side-by-side

I die for you

everytime you tell tales of your magnificent family portrait

 Stifling me

Each shot I take Each shot I make

is one of anger and resentment

Please don't get this wrong

As the bragging explodes, so do the magnificent family portraits

and I must display a facade of grief

knowing that you knew I couldn't tell my side of the story

Yet your honor is honored

 while mine is denied

I fought for you

yet the decency of my acknowledgement

 is not there

What right do I have to complain?

I accepted your honor at first glance

 I knew

Each shot I take  Each shot I make

 makes you look stronger

 while I get weaker

Each shot I take  Each shot I make

would be a sin to inflict upon myself

so I say a silent prayer

Where is Liberty?
