Portrait of a Broken Heart

Portrait of a Broken Heart

A Poem by TTBoy28

If I were a bird

I'd always be knocked to the ground

For not looking below

If I were a butterfly

My wings would always be wounded

Because I could not sense the tangled bush

If I were a fish

I would be thrown back

For having come from the light side

If I were an earthworm

No one would put me in their pail

Because my destiny is to live in the mud

I could just imagine what it would be like

If I were human
