A Child's eyes

A Child's eyes

A Poem by TTBoy28

A Child's Eyes

by Anthony Hines-Tecoy

I want to have baby's eyes again

seeing the smiles

and the coos

about to be pinched

because of my beauty

 My innocence

because of my coming

at a time of no peace

to piece the puzzles back together

that have soured

 like my milk sometimes

because someone neglected someone

 else

after discussions and too many

trips to the store

or the mall

for things to cool me

to warm me

then wondering about

themselves

I want to have baby's eyes again

to see the funny, frightening clowns

and all their shiny faces

and large heads

 laughing crying

 frowning

Until they see me

and I am loved again

And there is love

Until I sleep
