Can of beans

Can of beans

A Poem by T.S. Ulmus

I was carrying a can of beans
And it just exploded
My store needed beans
Another store in the franchise helped us
But it exploded
What the f**k just happened!!!
Rifleman at 150 yards
He shot for my heart and hit some beans
Others weren't that lucky
They dropped next to me
I never heard a shot
It took two of them to fall before I realized
S**t was going down
We all want to think we're Rambo
But when a case of beans explodes in your arms
And the brains of some random
Spray onto a car door
You will flee
It sucks to be that lady
But at least it wasn't me

It's terrible that our country has fallen into this violent state, and when you have anxiety, you have to fear going shopping (or really anywhere in public.) Even the mail here lost it's "safer" feeling a few years ago when the girl was shot in the food court.. even the countryside doesn't feel safe after what happened to Mollie Tibbetts.

I've been "on alert" for awhile, from walking anywhere to buying the staples at the store - including beans.

Blimey, I always thought beans were nutritious. Seems they are blooming dangerous. Exploding beans. Well makes a change from grenades I suppose:)

Grim stuff here, but appropriate to these times. It could happen to any of us.
