LonelinessA Poem by T.S. UlmusI'm here… alone... Lonely… So lonely… Alone, alone, loneliness is pervading my lonely aloneness Being alone is sorta like being with people except you're terribly alone. A barren desert "Hello loneliness, I didn't miss you" Nothing in the distance Just distance It never runs out Can't be exhausted Somehow there's always more I thought I found a thing that wasn't loneliness But I was wrong I was still alone Then I found more loneliness If loneliness were wealth I might be the richest man On the planet But it's not wealth It's just loneliness The problem with being alone Is that you have to do it By yourself "There once was a lonely man Who was alone" -The end Except it's not the end Because he kept being alone I try to remember not being alone Nope That memory got swallowed into the gaping maw Of loneliness I tried to give loneliness a drink But he wasn't there Son of a b***h keeps trying to turn himself into a metaphor But then I would at least Have an abstract concept to keep me company But I've got nothing And I am lonely © 2021 T.S.
