Good morningA Poem by T.S. Ulmus
“Good morning”
Good morning?! I'm already mourning this morning! Without warning some alarm was horning and blaring and beeping, keeping me from sleeping, not caring about me reaping dreams from my slumber. While under the sheets in pure wonder of scenes that seemed so real the squeal of real life came to me With sharp corners Without warning I was turning and bearing The weight of fate Fickles and hate Tearing my meek little soul I woke to a hole with no goal A stocking with coal Good morning!!! You would drop that on me? On top of the fee Assessed just to be I request and I plea Some stupid platitude Your attitude is appalling The real world was calling And now I’m bawling I’m tired You just won’t let me sleep! Good morning?! Is the opposite of adorning It’s thundering and roads are covered with black ice It’d be nice if things were sunny Funny, so long since I’ve even seen a bunny Is it even a good morn? I’m pretty forlorn And It’s all your fault Cuz the first thing you did Was assault me with “Good morning” glee Before morning coffee “Good morning”?! You suck. © 2021 T.S. UlmusAuthor's Note
