To-do List

Just a mundane list of stuff I need to do

I've got a lot to do today,
here's my list:

-establish a paramilitary organization
-exercise demons at the train station
-mask my insecurities with laughter
-ponder what will come after
-defy the unflinching banality
-retry my dry reality
-pick up oatmeal
-whisper the truth
-drip blood
-inform the youth
-kiss the door to the molten core of passion
-score more than my lowly ration
-grow an extra eyeball (or two)
-go down the hall for a better view
-make another dimension hairy
-translate my obituary (to Latin)
-find a gilded calf to fatten
-scrawl a squall on the wall of my cell
-call the fall of a coin flip in hell
-evaporate the proletariat
-look up the word "proletariat"
-sup on the marrow of hedonism
-dream of the mechanisms of gnosticism

Well, I'll probably just get the oatmeal.

I loved this! This poem, train of thought represents 2 minutes in my day. All the way to oatmeal, ticking off the list of missions to accomplish some great, some (where did that come from?). This poem made me feel better about the business that goes on in my head at certain times of my day. Well done and thank you.

Sometimes I like to get high and watch MST3000 for an abnormally long time. List's are totally for b*****s.

Oh my, you are gonna be busy I thought. You know you really do know how to create a list of endless possibilities. I love the energy here, the enthusiasm and the humour. I also liked the ending. That sort of summed up my energy levels right now. I can just about do breakfast. Thanks for the smile.

I love the casualness of all these random things tossed together like a standard, if not overly optimistic, to-do list!

And even if you took the list to the store, it was probably the day the hordes began hoarding oatmeal and you ended up with cornflakes and no milk.
Don't worry T. S. I never stick to those "things to do on Monday" list, written in a moment of weekend optimism either. 😊

This honestly made me crack up. It is so random and creative. It funny to see all of these wild concepts put in a list as if it is just casual. It's comedic appeal also comes from the reality checks (looking up proletariat) and self deprecating humor (mask my insecurities with laughter) and juxtapositions (getting oatmeal, then whispering the truth). So very unique!

Procrastination, it really should be made law. Remind me to put that forward when I hit the shops on the way to Parliament. Did have to google, gnosticism mind you. Quite divine.
