404

404

A Poem by T.S. Ulmus
"

"insecure" was on purpose.

"
I tried my best to find love.
"404 file not found"
So I tried the same thing again.

There must be another search engine.
"You are about to enter an insecure site,
Would you like to continue?"
D****t... (Click yes)
"The moderator has decided your content
Is completely unacceptable."
There's always another site.
Ahh! Blue screen of death!
Unplugged and replugged my router.
A lot of people must be searching,
you'd think there'd be a decent page.
"Please enter your credit card number
Your social security number
And a photo of your ID"
I want to lap at the fountain
of love and acceptance.
"You will be contacted by a rep
in two to seven weeks
Meanwhile,
you should buy goldfish or something."

Most imaginative, clever & witty poem/idea I've seen from you so far! Love the way you use many digital disses to explain away one's abject rejection record *wink! wink!* Fondly, Margie

a rep being paid to speak to at home in their underwear (if you can even get one). welcome to the new world. the older i get, the more i realize that good service is a highly-valued commodity. technology has replace human interaction -it's like a bad episode of star trek ... :)

This is an awesome technology poem with romance and insecurity intertwined. We are deeply connected and depend on technology. Any disruption, as the narrator states, gets us upset and insecure. As if our bloodlines have been cut. Then there is the fear of identity theft. It is a wild world out there and we should be vigilant and try to find solutions to our disruptions. Kudos.

I have to say that has not happened to me but I think I would panic a bit and then remember my son works with computers and he can fix anything. Aside from that this is a good write. The reader can feel the anxiety of the moment and love the bits of sarcasm because I adore it in poems. Well done

Technology is wonderful until it goes wrong. When I get 404 messages I almost go into panic mode. I assume there is some scam going on and everyone is after my id. A bit like what happened last week on WC when it appears most of us had our accounts banned by the moderator. Fortunately my grandkids have savvy when it comes to tech, they usually suss what's going on but not before frustration has set in for me. Your final line is hilarious. Good read.
