Bloodlines

Bloodlines

A Poem by PANTHER811

Surging crimson blood observe a place I've been before.
Extending sweet temptation's hand, open up the door.
I know what is, for I have been, that is why I'm here.
Hesitate but for a moment, travel on without a fear.

That we would undo, what it is that we have did.
Is to say our super ego, has suppressed our basic id.
Reality, does tell us, that this could not be so.
Be the natural course, no where would we go.

Living life, we know that things must change.
Relationships, accommodations, review, rearrange.
If we seek, in retrospect, to change what we learn.
What we learned would not be, there-in lies the blame.

So let the blood go coursing, close in on the prey.
Crimson tide I'll sail on, living fully life this day.

Spending too much time regretting what we've done is certainly time wasted, Tom. Better to take that knowledge and trudge on more fully equipped to deal with the future. You have beautifully expressed these feelings, and I very much enjoyed reading your poem.
