Illusory Love

Illusory Love

A Poem by PANTHER811

Sliding down a balustrade formless shadow race across your dream
Smoke and mirrors make real life more reality then it should seem
Wanton lusts banish anhedonia when all is done and said
My heart and soul skip the living days come revel in my bed

Moving through fog laden thought stir openings where I go
Yet unclear beyond that veil is the knowledge you should know
A touch the kiss the words the breath these are the physical being
What lies beneath this sensuousness is a hollowness not seeing

In the moonlight of new fallen snow not a footprint will I leave
Sun shines on a sandy beach yet no trail can one perceive
So this spirit blends so freely in a life filled with pleasures' sound
Sets night time's stars a flying blows day time's clouds around

Have no hates and but few wants and regrets won't entertain
May not be much but is what there is and life never is mundane
The face there in the mirror asks no questions to involved
And of life comes this retort as of now it's unresolved

Wind and night and warm spring rain gently breeze in then fall
With a cloak caressing softly flowing freely nurture natures call
Stepping back then looking round I feel the way I feel
Though not resolved say this of life may not or may be real

This is lovely, Tom. Your poetry sings of your spirit floating free with the breeze, asking no questions and leaving no trail. Bravo to you on writing some really wonderful poetry.

This stanza is my favorite and it makes me think of someone dreaming of the narrator. This piece had strong and delicate words. The narrator is drifting through ones dreams with ease and sending an array of emotions to the dreamer. Reality is what me make of it is what the last stanza and line says to me. I enjoyed this whole piece from the first line to the last.
