Failure

Failure

A Poem by Alvin L. Kathembe

I won’t fail.
You see, the thing about the task in hand -
As is true for any task -
Our perception of its complexity
Is the only complexity that exists at all
Our perception of our abiliy
 Is the only quantifier
Of the ability that we possess…
No man ever was more capable
Than he thought he was…
Talent is useless -
It’s like the paraglider on the edge of the cliff -
Stationary, earthbound, uninspired…
Nobody ever went anywhere
On potential energy!
There is no talent.
 There is no merit.
There is only accomplishment, and acquisition.

So what are you waiting for?
Release your inhibitions
And jump.
“Not good enough” “Not strong enough”
Only exist In your mind.

I won’t fail.
I will never fail.
’Cause the opposite of failure isn’t accomplishment…
No…
The opposite of failure
Is Faith.

Is there a typo on the sixth line? 'abiliy'---> 'ability' maybe?

Aside from that this was epic on a new scale: There was some valid wisdom to be gained and inspiration to be instilled with your words. I always love your delivery and tone...it sets a great foundation for the message.

This part was so great:
"Stationary, earthbound, uninspired…
Nobody ever went anywhere
On potential energy!
There is no talent.
There is no merit.
There is only accomplishment, and acquisition. "

There's a saying i think i'd like to quote here: 'Hard work beats Talent when Talent doesn't work hard'

Wonderful piece!!

You breathe out inspiration...get it? I love this piece. Paraglider on the edge of a cliff-
Stationery ,earthbound uninspired...
You made my day.
